A Letter from our President

As we head into the season, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the NYC Parents In Action community. Your generosity and involvement have made this an impactful year for parents across our schools. As a volunteer-led nonprofit, every dollar donated supports our mission to strengthen parent communities and provide meaningful content that supports families at every stage.
Here’s what your support made possible this year:
Parent Talks
We recruited 28 new, professionally-trained
volunteer Parent Talk Facilitators, ready to guide
thoughtful conversations in our schools.
We enabled connection with
over 190 Parent Talks held across NYC.

Parent Education
Our access enabled us to host 5 timely, expert-led seminars:

Parenting Scene
Our commitment to keeping parents informed
led to the expansion of Fathers Forum to create Parenting Scene, an open discussion with parents, educators, and thought leaders delving into best practices for parenting today.
This spring, we moderated a conversation with Heads of School Tom Kelly and Robbie Pennoyer, and journalist author Jennifer Wallace to discuss a variety of current topics, including anxiety, academic and social pressures, and generally raising good humans.

Teen Scene
For over three decades, NYC-PIA’s Teen Scene has provided parents with insights into the lives of NYC high school students.
For the 2025 Teen Scene, a panel of 16 teens, spoke about their experiences with academics, stress, parties, drinking, drugs, gender identity, consent, mental health, and more.
