WEDNESDAY, May 6th, 2026, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m. on Zoom
Join us for an evening of honest conversation and shared experiences in a warm, welcoming space designed just for LGBTQ+ parents.
Our LGBTQ+ Parent Talk brings parents together to connect, reflect, and support one another — no experts, no lectures, no pressure, just real talk among peers.
Hello, LGBTQ+ Parents!
We’re hosting something special – an intimate group gathering that we at NYC-Parents in Action call Parent Talks – where LBGTQ+ parents can sit together and speak freely about their parenting journey with others walking the same path.
Whether you’re navigating toddler tantrums, teenage boundaries, or anything in between, this is your space to share wisdom, exchange ideas, and gain new perspectives from other LGBTQ+ parents. And whether your family was built through adoption, fostering, surrogacy, co-parenting, or any other path, you belong here.
Parenting as a LGBTQ+ person/couple comes with its own unique set of joys, challenges, and questions. Let’s tackle them together over good conversation in a relaxed, judgment-free zone, with the assistance of a of professionally trained facilitators.
Don’t miss the chance to build community, strengthen your parenting skills, and walk away feeling more connected and supported.
Let’s keep growing, learning, and showing up — together.

About NYC-Parents in Action
NYC-Parents in Action, Inc., is a non-profit volunteer organization committed to the belief that effective communication, parent to parent and parent to child, is vital to the healthy development of young adults capable of making sound choices. We provide education, information, and a communication network to inform parents about social and developmental issues. With these tools, we strive to help parents communicate openly, effectively, and consistently with their children. Our motto is Be Involved, Be Informed, Be Connected. Parent Talks are your chance to be connected.
NYC-PIA informs parents on a host of issues, from preschool through high school. We offer Parent Talks like this one, as well as speaker events and seminars such as Teen Scene and Parenting Scene.
Parent Talks are NYC-PIA’s signature facilitated discussion group meetings for parents. Each year, we coordinate over 200 Parent Talks in our participating New York City schools.
The goal of Parent Talks is to have a respectful and open exchange of ideas in a safe, non-judgmental environment. All topics discussed are determined by the participants. The meetings provide an opportunity for parents to come together to share parenting perspectives, concerns, and strategies—whatever issues they are facing as parents.
Our Facilitators are parents and individuals who go through intense training in order to contribute their time and talent to guiding Parent Talk discussion groups.
From sleep schedules to social media, bullying to binge drinking, tantrums to teenage anxiety, NYC-PIA Facilitators keep the conversations going.
You can learn more about becoming a facilitator here.
