A Parent Connect: Learn & Share Event

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29TH, 2025, Noon – 1:30 PM EST / 9 – 10:30 AM PST via Zoom

Join us for a presentation by psychologists Dr. Michelle Chung and Dr. Laura Berssenbrugge exploring how today’s achievement-based world can affect our kids and how parents can support them, and stay for peer-to-peer breakout sessions with other parents to discuss the topic and share perspectives, experiences, and advice.

In partnership with The Modern Asian Parent, NYC-Parents in Action invites you to a unique event combining expert advice with parent connections. The event will begin with a presentation on how parents can help their children rise above these stresses. Dr. Chung and Dr. Bresenbrugge will provide practical tools and strategies for parents to help their kids thrive under pressure.
 
Following the presentation, participants will join peer-to-peer parent talks grouped by their child’s age, to reflect, connect, and share perspectives.

Our Panelists:

Dr. Laura Berssenbrugge, PsyD

Dr. Berssenbrugge is a Hawaii- and New York-based child and adolescent psychologist and former middle school teacher. She specializes in CBT, DBT, and evidence-based treatments for anxiety, mood, and communication challenges, and also supports individuals navigating fertility and reproductive issues. She is the creator of “Release, Regulate, & Relax” and author of “Beyond the Blush: A CBT Approach to Overcoming Social Anxiety.

Dr. Michelle Chung, PsyD

Dr. Chung is a clinical psychologist specializing in evidence-based therapies. She works with kids, adults, and families on anxiety, mood, trauma, executive functioning, parenting, and sports/performance psychology. She also supports women through perimenopause and menopause. She is the founder of InPractice Psychology Group, a board member of Korean Community Services and YourMomCares, and works with Olympic athletes. Most importantly, she is a mother.
